The Speaker, Vice President discuss security situation, Mosul liberation operations, and the situation of displaced families

The Speaker Dr. Saleem Al-Jubouri met on Wednesday with Vice President Mr. Osama al-Nujafi in the presence of a number of MPs. The meeting discussed the political situation, the liberation of Mosul and the situation of displaced families.
Al-Jubouri said that the victories that are achieved by the security services in the battles to liberate Mosul and other cities will stabilize the political and security situations in the country.
The Speaker urged protection of civilians in ongoing military operations in Mosul, stressing the need for bringing the displaced people back to their liberated areas and providing them with medical care and humanitarian aid.
He explained that extraordinary efforts are needed in the post-ISIS period by all local and international parties to help the people of Nineveh to overcome their plight.
Al-Jubouri also stressed need for synergy among political parties to achieve national understanding and maintain the unity of Iraq.
He added that activating the dialogue between the political parties will contribute effectively in overcoming all obstacles and resolving differences in order to overcome the challenges that the country is going through.
