Sheikh Mohammed discusses with the International Red Cross the situation of displaced people in Iraq and ways to provide urgent assistance to alleviate the suffering.

Deputy Speaker Aram Sheikh Mohammed received today President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Ms. Katharina Ritz. The two sides discussed the situation of displaced people inside Iraq and ways to provide urgent humanitarian assistance to these families and ease the daily suffering. Sheikh Mohammed pointed to the huge numbers of IDP in Kurdistan region who fled from their areas due to terrorist acts and their great suffering and poor conditions despite ongoing assistance by the international organizations and called on the Red Cross to intensify efforts and increase the amount of aid in terms of quantities as soon as possible.

Ms. Ritz demanded to be provided with the facilities and support by government agencies and all relevant institutions to the Red Cross for the delivery of food, medicines and daily needs for the displaced families.
