The Speaker, Head of the EU Delegation discuss the situation of IDPs

The Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri met on Tuesday august 30, 2016 the Head of the EU Delegation Mr. Patrick Simonnet together with other Ambassadors and representatives from the EU member countries.

During the meeting, they discussed the need for supporting and sheltering displaced people and providing them with the necessary services and the Iraqi government’s inability to meet all their needs.

The Speaker stressed the need for involving Mosul’s residents in the liberation operations, adding that bringing the IDPs back to their liberated areas is the most important message that should be sent to the people of Nineveh before liberating the city of Mosul.

Al-Jubouri remarked that Iraqi Council of Representatives could pass the General Amnesty Law despite crises, noting that the application of the law will strengthen national unity and build trust among all segments of society.
