Al-Jubouri, Erdogan discuss security and political situations

The Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri met on Thursday September 1, 2016 the President of Turkey Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara.

The Speaker congratulated Erdogan for the military coup’s failure, remarking that Turkey’s maintaining of stability afterwards is very impressive and a role model to be followed.

Both sides also discussed the future of the region in light of receding risk of terrorism, and the importance of regional cooperation on security and economic levels.

The Speaker thanked Turkey for sheltering thousands of Iraq refugees, expressing hope for providing more facilities in residence and obtaining visas and reviving tourism, trade and investment between the two countries.
