The Speaker meets Chairman of Armed Services Committee of U.S. Congress

The Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri met on Thursday Senator Jack Reed the Chairman of the Armed Services Committee of U.S. Congress and Mr. Douglas Silliman U.S. Ambassador to Iraq.

During the meeting, they discussed the latest security and political updates and the progress of Mosul liberation operations as well as the international community’s support in this regard.

Al-Jubouri stressed, “The military operations should be accompanied by humanitarian support that commensurate with the displacement of people. Civilians should be spared in these operations”.

The Speaker al-Jubouri also remarked “fighting ISIS cannot achieve success by military means only; ISIS should be fought intellectually so as to ensure the non-return of this extremist organization”.
