The Speaker meets delegation of European Institute of Peace and stresses need for community peace

The Speaker Dr. Saleem a-Jubouri met in his office on Monday a delegation of European Institute of Peace. During the meeting, they discussed they reviewed the most important political and security developments on the local scene, especially the progress of the military operations in Mosul and the role of the international community in supporting Iraq in its war against ISIS. They also discussed the need for bringing security and peace to the liberated areas and relocating the IDPs and providing them with necessary services.

Al-Jubouri remarked that the Iraqi Council of Representatives gives priority to providing security and peace for citizens through legislating laws that promote peaceful coexistence.

Concerning Nineveh province, the Speaker stated, “the issue of community peace is one of the priorities of the parliament for the post-ISIS phase and we will work in coordination with the residents and the government to ensure the restoration of stability in all areas of the province.
