The Speaker urges Japan to participate in reconstruction of the liberated areas in post ISIS period

The Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri met on Wednesday the Japanese ambassador to Iraq Mr. Fumio Iwai. During the meeting, they discussed the latest security and political updates in Iraq and the region and the war Iraq is waging against ISIS and ways to increase international support at all levels.
The two sides also discussed the bilateral relations between Iraq and Japan wherein Speaker stressed the need to expand cooperative areas and achieve win-win results. He pointed to the importance of taking advantage of the Japanese experience, praising Japan’s role in supporting Iraq in all fields especially in the humanitarian and relief fields, calling on Japan to participate in the reconstruction of liberated areas.
For his part, the Japanese ambassador stressed his country’s keenness to expand the horizons of cooperation with Iraq and that the two countries have strong relations, stressing that Japan supports Iraq in its war against terrorism and in all other fields
