COR votes not convinced of the answers of IHEC
In its 28th ordinary plenary session held on Tuesday 25/4/2017, the COR voted not convinced of the answers of Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) and on a parliamentary decision obliging the concerned parties to protect the national agricultural product.
The session was chaired by H.E. the Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri and attended by 252 MPs.
At the beginning of the session, the Speaker congratulated the Islamic nation on the anniversary of the Isra and Al-Maraj, while at the same time extending his condolences to the Iraqi people and the Islamic nation on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Musa al-Kadhim.
He also expressed his deepest condolences to some of the MPs on the death of their relatives including MP Fadhil Kanani, MP Rehab Al-Aboudi, MP Abdel Salam Al Malki and MP Alia Nassif.
After that, MP Hoshyar Abdullah rected a statement on the occasion of the anniversary of the bombing of the Qal’at Daza by the former regime in 1974 which resulted in killing 163 civilians and wounding 300 others.
Al-Jubouri announced that he had received a letter from the Federal Court on the interpretation of Article 61 (VIII / e) and its provisions.
In a related matter, the Speaker pointed out that the 9th of May was fixed to answer the questions submitted to the Minister of Transport.
The COR the voted on a parliamentary decision obliging the concerned parties to protect the national agricultural product.
The Council proceeded to vote on the proposed legislation of the third amendment to the Law of the High Commission for Human Rights No. (53) for the year 2008 submitted by the Commission on Human Rights.
The COR voted on the weekly conference recommendations of the Samarra Forum held by the Faculty of Archeology at the University of Samarra.
On the other hand, the COR voted by secret ballot not convinced of the answers of Independent High Electoral Commission. The final tally was 252 with 119 not convinced and 118 convinced and 15 MPs abstained.
The session was then adjourned to the Thursday 27/4/2017.
