COR finishes reading 4 draft laws
In its 33rd ordinary plenary session held on Wednesday 10/5/2017, the COR finished the first and the second reading of 4 draft laws.
The session was chaired by H.E. the Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri and attended by 174 MPs.
At the start of the session, the Presidency decided to postpone the vote on the legislative proposal of Freedom of Expression and peaceful Demonstration submitted by the committees of Legal Affairs, Human Rights, Security & Defense, Culture& Media, and Endowments & Religious Affairs to next Monday.
The COR finished the first reading of the legislative proposal amending the law of the Iraqi Nationality No. (26) for the year 2006 submitted by the Security and Defense Committee, and completed the first reading of the legislative proposal of the law of trade unions and professional federations submitted by the Committee of Civil Society Organizations.
The Council completed the first reading of the legislative proposal ratifying the agreement to accelerate cooperation in the economic and energy affairs between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Government of the Republic of South Korea, submitted by the committees of Foreign Relations, Oil & Energy, Natural Resources and Economy and Investment.
The COR also finished reading report and discussing legislative proposal of the accession of Iraq to Protocol to the Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed conflict 1954, submitted by the Committees of Foreign Relations, Culture & Media, Tourism and Antiquities and Security and Defense.
The session was then adjourned to next Sunday 14/5/2017.
