Speaker: ISIS’s end is imminent and it is an important step on the road to stability

The Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri met on Saturday the US Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIS Mr. Brett McGurk with the presence of the US ambassador to Iraq Mr. Douglas Silliman. During the meeting, they discussed the security and political developments in the Iraqi scene and ways to enhance joint cooperation between Iraq and the United States in facing terrorism and extremism, as well as in the economic and investment fields
The Speaker confirmed that ISIS’s end is imminent and it is an important step on the road to stability, adding that it does not mean that the issue of terrorism is completely over. Therefore, we affirm that we have an intellectual rehabilitation process, which is no less important than the geographical liberalization”. The speaker appreciated “the efforts of the United States in supporting Iraq during its war against terrorist gangs.”
He added, “The first steps that can help us to create appropriate environment to stability is the return of the displaced people and the end of their suffering, and focusing on developing the service reality of the affected cities”.
The two sides agreed on the importance of deepening the fruitful dialogue and its adoption to solve all problems and overcome all obstacles.
For his part, Mr. McGurk said that the United States continues to support Iraq in its fight against terrorism and supports all efforts aimed to activating regional and international economic cooperation.
