The Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri met in his office on Tuesday Germany’s Advisor to Iraq on Economic Issues Mr. Ekkhard Brose in the presence of Mr. Cyril Nun the German ambassador to Iraq.
During the meeting, they discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and means of improving them. They also discussed the issue of the reconstruction of the liberated areas and the role of the EU and the international community in this regard.
The Speaker highlighted that Iraq seeks to build developing constructive relationships with the countries of the world especially Germany which played great role in its war against terrorism.
He pointed out that the next stage requires the mobilization of all efforts to reconstruct the liberated cities and to ensure a safe return for displaced families.
He pointed out that the Council of Representatives is keen to remove all the obstacles in order to promote economic and security sectors in the country, pointing out the importance of overcoming the ISIS phase through implementation of community reconciliation the a way to restore stability and spreading the spirit of tolerance among all components of the Iraqi people.
For his part, Mr. Brose confirmed his country’s support to Iraq, pointing out the importance of increasing coordination between the two sides in order to accelerate the restoration of stability in the country.
