The Speaker meets Supreme Committee for Tribal Conflicts Settlement in Basra

The Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri received on Wednesday in his office the Supreme Committee for Tribal Conflicts Settlement in Basra governorate, in the presence of the Deputy Governor Safa Al-Ghanim. During the meeting, they discussed the security and service situation in the governorate and highlighted the challenges that people face and means of overcoming them.
The Speaker remarked, “Basra tribes are able to address conflicts and other tough issues through courageous conversations and by obeying the law, like they had always used to do”.
The Speaker lauded the civil peace initiative proposed by the Supreme Committee to resolve tribal disputes in order to strengthen social stability in the province. He called for redoubling efforts to solve the problems facing the governorate and stressed the importance of strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and tolerance among Iraqis.
For their part, the delegation members, expressed their appreciation for the Speaker’s constant efforts to resolve tribal conflicts and achieve community reconciliation and for anchoring civil and community peace.
