The Speaker meets delegation of Institute of International Law
The Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri met in his office on Tuesday a delegation of Institute of International Law and Human Rights. During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments in the political scene in Iraq and the region, they also discussed the issue of Kurdistan Region’s referendum and its compatibility with the constitution.
The Speaker stressed that the current stage requires the initiation of an in-depth and frank dialogue between all parties, and calls to prioritize the language of reason and wisdom and the supreme interest of the area in order to get out of the current crisis.
“The current stage requires unification of efforts to eliminate the terrorist organizations, reconstructing the liberated cities and to return displaced people to their areas as soon as possible,” he added. He also stressed the importance of benefiting from international expertise in the legal profession to resolve conflicts.
The Speaker pointed out that the Council of Representatives works in cooperation with the Institute of International Law to consolidate the concept of justice and citizenship in the country by introducing the work of human rights’ organizations and those concerned with human rights.
