The Speaker meets US ambassador

The Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri met in his office on Tuesday the US ambassador to Iraq Mr. Douglas Silliman.
During the meeting, they discussed security and political developments in Iraq and the region, and the developments in Kirkuk and other areas and ways to remedy the problems through constitutional mechanisms away from tension and escalation, according to the constitution and legislations.
The Speaker stressed the importance of deploying federal military forces in the disputed areas, calling on all parties to resort to logic and wisdom and to spare the Iraqi citizens’ lives.
For his part, Mr. Silliman said that the United States supports the stability of the state and supports all efforts that aim at finding appropriate solutions to the outstanding issues.
