The Speaker calls for inclusive national dialogue based on constitutional constants and includes all disputed issues
The Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri said on Saturday that Iraq is going through an unprecedented historical and critical situation that requires the leading political elite to exert an effort for dialogue, understanding and crossing the red lines. “We have succeeded today in establishing a culture of unity through our courage and our willingness to dismantle the dangerous issues with caution and hesitation,” he said in a speech at a ceremony marking the founding anniversary of the Islamic Supreme Council. He pointed out “the confrontation of terrorism earned Iraq a place among the countries of the world, which has resulted in international support for us in all the problems we faced and the latest ones that threatened the unity of Iraq”. He called on all parties to open the prospect of a comprehensive national dialogue focused on the constitutional constants, justice, and equity as a confirmation of national unity.
