Aram Sheikh Mohammed: The transfer of US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem will obstruct the peace process and create new problems in the region

The Deputy Speaker Aram Sheikh Mohammed criticized US President Donald Trump’s decision to declare the city of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and affirmed his rejection of this unjust decision against the Palestinian people and all international agreements provided for the two states. He stated that “The transfer of the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem will obstruct the peace process and create new problems in the region”. He called on the White House to cancel the decision to prevent causing further confusion and tension, and work to promote peace and to find a comprehensive and just solution to the Palestinian issue, and the preservation of international efforts to fight terrorism and extremism to spread security and stability in the region and the world.
