The Speaker meets delegation of American Peace Institute
The Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri emphasized the need to provide an environment suitable for community reconciliation in liberated areas to ensure the rights of all without exception
The Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri received on Tuesday a delegation of the American Peace Institute headed by Dr. Elie Abouaoun the director of the Middle East & North Africa Programs at the U.S. Institute of Peace.
During the meeting, they discussed the latest political and security developments in Iraq and the region and the need for international efforts to support stability in the liberated areas and return the displaced persons.
The Speaker stressed the need to create a conducive environment to achieve community reconciliation in the liberated areas, being one of the most important issues to focus on in the coming period as it preserves the stability of those areas to ensure the rights of everyone without exception.
“The reconstruction of the areas affected by terrorist acts and the removal of all obstacles that hinder the return of the displaced people are at the top of our priorities and which we hope to be realized on the ground,” he added. He continued, “The Council of Representatives supports all efforts aimed at achieving stability and restoring the normal life in the affected areas through laws and legislation that serve this aspect”.
