The Speaker meets delegation of Independent High Electoral Commission

The Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri received the Chairman and members of the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC).

Al-Jubouri stressed the need to overcome all obstacles that hinder the work of the Electoral Commission, especially with regard to financial and administrative aspects, pointing out that the COR is keen to resolve all the problems   through the adoption of the General Budget Law, which is the most prominent obstacle that stand in the way of the upcoming elections.

“The displaced people should be prepared for the elections to engage them in entrenching the democratic principles I the country,” the Speaker said. “The government is committed to provide all the requirements of the elections at the stated timings, and to ensure the participation of all Iraqis without exception.
