Sheikh Hamoudi: Iraq and Iran are one front against terrorism and we reject any American presence in the region

The head of the Supreme Islamic Council Sheikh Dr. Hamoudi said that Iraq and Iran are in one front against the threat of terrorism, stressing the importance of the combination of military and intelligence efforts to strengthen security of the region.
This came during a meeting with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran Ali Akbar Velayati and his accompanying delegation in the presence of the head of the Al-Fath Alliance Haj Hadi Al-Amiri, where they discussed the most important developments on the political, security and economic levels of both countries.
Sheikh Hamoudi agreed with Velayati to reject any US military presence in the region, stressing that this step has its goals and malicious objectives, calling for continued cooperation to confront the enemy’s plans.
For his part, Mr. Velayati said that the strategic relations between the two countries are crucial to the future of the entire Middle East region, hoping that bilateral relations will witness a broader level of activating fields of common interest, congratulating the successive victories to defeat ISIS.
