COR starts voting process on Federal Budget Law for the fiscal year 2018
In its 13th plenary session held on Thursday March 1, 2017, the Iraqi Council of Representatives started voting on Federal Budget Law for the fiscal year 2018 and voted on five parliamentary resolutions.
The session was chaired by H.E the Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri and attended by 180 MPs.
At the outset of the session, the Speaker congratulated the Iraqi teachers on the occasion of Teacher’s Day.
MP Su’aad Jabbar recited a statement in the name of the parliamentary Committee of Education on the occasion of Teacher’s Day in which she congratulated the educational staff on their day.
The Council then voted on a parliamentary resolution to consider the district of al- Baaj and its attached villages and the area of Tal Abtah and other villages as affected areas.
The Council also voted on a parliamentary resolution to consider the area of Ayadiyah in Tal Afar district as an affected area.
The council voted on a parliamentary resolution to consider districts attached to Anbar province including al-Qa’em, Ana and Rawa as affected areas.
The council voted on a parliamentary resolution to thank all the countries that supported Iraq in its war against terrorism, and called on the government to set a timetable for the departure of foreign troops after the declaration of final victory over terrorist groups.
The council voted on a parliamentary resolution to reschedule the agricultural loans granted to farmers and to terminate the cumulative benefits.
The Council proceeded to vote on the legislative proposal for the Federal Budget Law for the fiscal year 2018, and completed voting on 12 articles out of 48 articles.
The session was then adjourned to next Saturday 3/3/2018 at 11:00 AM.
