COR votes on 14 laws and parliamentary resolutions

In its 14th plenary sessions held on Monday March 5, 2018 he Iraqi Council of Representatives voted on 8 laws and 6 parliamentary resolutions and finished reading one legislative proposal.
The session was chaired by H.E the Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri and attended by 220 MPs.
At the outset of the session the council voted on the first amendment of the law of Mayors No. 13 of 2011 submitted by the Legal Committee.
The Council ended the vote on the legislative proposal to the first amendment to the Law of Anti-Terrorism Agency No. 31 of 2016 submitted by the Security and Defense Committee. The Council ended the vote on the legislative proposal for the Iraqi National Oil Company submitted by the Committee of Oil & Energy and Natural Resources.
The Council voted on a parliamentary resolution included the correction of an inadvertent error that was accidently added to the general budget concerning the allocation of 3 trillion dinars instead of 2 within the compensation of employees of the Kurdistan region and the voluntary fighters.
The Council also voted on a parliamentary resolution that committed the Minister of Finance in coordination with the Minister of Planning to include instructions to facilitate the implementation of the budget law and the rules of disbursement of funds referred to in such a way that ensures the observance of the above instructions and include all displaced.
The Council voted on legislative proposal on the protection of teachers, supervisors and educational consultants
The Speaker congratulated the teachers and the educational staff for adopting this law, considering it a very little of what they deserve.
The Council voted on a parliamentary resolution on changing the curriculum for the students with special needs or halving them to match their level of awareness.
The Council completed the vote on the legislative proposal for Babylon, Iraq’s cultural capital.
The council voted on the legislative proposal for Samarra, the capital of Islamic culture, submitted by the committees of Tourism & Architecture and Legal Affairs.
The Council voted on the legislative proposal for the second amendment to the Law to Compensate Those Who Lost Parts of Their Bodies Due to the Practices of the Former Regime No. 5 of 2009 amended by the Committee of Martyrs, Victims and Political Prisoners.
The Council voted on a parliamentary decision obliging the government to provide operational contracts to the Electoral Commission for those who worked for the Independent Electoral Commission before 2015.
The Council voted on a parliamentary decision regarding the smuggled oil and the money obtained from it from the Kirkuk fields, including the Central Bank’s mandate to know the names of the banks and persons charged with possession of stolen money, as well as the formation of an investigative committee composed of the Oil & Energy and Integrity Committees to submit its report within a month.
The Council ended the vote on the legislative proposal for the Council of Representatives and its formation.
Al-Jubouri said that MP Kazem al-Sayadi denied telling the media that he was expelled from the session.
The council voted on a parliamentary decision obliging state universities and colleges to implement a decision to reinstate dismissed students if the student presents request confirms his/her affiliation to the voluntary fighters and tribal crowd signed by the head of the voluntary fighters or whoever represents him.
The Council completed reading report and discussion of the legislative proposal for selling and renting of Squatter settlements to the people who are dwelling them.
The session was then adjourned to Tuesday 13/3/2018.
