After flooding local market with imported tomatoes through the ports of Kurdistan, Sheikh Hamoudi holds PM Abadi responsible and demands immediate intervention to protect the local product

The First Deputy Speaker Sheikh Dr. Humam Hamoudi expressed his deep regret over the imported tomatoes through the ports of Kurdistan that caused a severe blow to Iraqi farmers, adding that coincided with the season of production of tomatoes in Iraq “a conspiracy to strike the national economy.”
Sheikh Hamoudi stressed that after his contact with the border crossings, it was found that the imported tomatoes entered through the ports of Kurdistan under the Joint Committee, and that they were not intercepted even by the joint operations forces.
Sheikh Hamoudi said that Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi is responsible for activating the law of border crossings. He said that this is a challenge to his ability to protect the national products. He called on him to immediately close the border crossings for the importation of tomatoes and other agricultural products.
