Sheikh Hamoudi: The voluntary forces belong to the people and the state, and its candidates are not entitled to candidacy

The First Deputy Speaker Sheikh Dr. Humam Hamoudi confirmed that members of the voluntary forces are not eligible to nominate for the elections, considering that “the body is a military institution and subject to the law in this regard.”
He stressed “The voluntary forces belong to the people and the state and were founded by the religious leaders and it is forbidden for any party to claim them as their own. They will remain a national force to defend Iraq, its people, its unity and its land, and build a strong and prosperous Iraq,” Hamoudi said.
