Sheikh Mohammad, Chinese ambassador discuss bilateral relations

Deputy Speaker Aram sheikh Mohammad met the Chinese ambassador to Iraq Mr. Chen Weiqing and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, they discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and means of developing them in the different areas.

Sheikh Mohammad congratulated Mr. Weiqing on the occasion of assuming the post wishing him success in his mission. He also lauded the positive role that China plays in supporting Iraq and Kurdistan district especially in light of the financial problems and the economic crisis and called on the Chinese side to contribute to the reconstruction of the affected areas.

The Chinese ambassador expressed his country’s keenness to build better relations with Iraq and his government’s readiness to provide more support both financially and economically in order to combat terrorism and deliver humanitarian assistance for the IDPs in the provinces and the Kurdistan Region.

Both sides exchanged souvenirs at the end of the meeting.
