The Speaker, Kubiš discuss security and political situations

The Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri met in his office UN Special representative to Iraq Mr. Ján Kubiš. During the meeting, they discussed the latest security and political developments in Iraq and the killing of dozens of civilians as a result of an air strike. The Speaker stressed the necessity of taking all necessary precautions to limit civilian casualties especially as the enemy uses civilians as human shields.
He also urged the UN and the non-governmental organizations to provide the displaced persons with shelter and protection and basic necessities.
For his part, Mr. Kubiš confirmed his country’s readiness to provide all means of aid and relief for the displaced in Mosul.
