During his meeting with German Foreign Minister, the Speaker points to the importance of continued international support for Iraq

The Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri met on Wednesday the German Foreign Minister Mr. Zigmar Gabriel and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, they discussed the latest security and political developments, the victories achieved by the Iraqi security forces against ISIS, and means of promoting coordination and cooperation between Iraq and the international community in order to provide military, and humanitarian support.
The Speaker stressed the importance of continued international support for Iraq to bring back the IDPs and reconstructed their destroyed areas, lauding Germany’s great role within the international community in supporting Iraq.
The Speaker affirmed that the bilateral relations between the two countries are going through a buoyant period, Iraqi parliament’s desire to boost cooperation between Iraq and Germany.
For his part, the German Foreign Minister stressed his country’s keenness to continue supporting Iraq in its war against terrorism and the importance of promoting joint cooperation to achieve the interests of the two friendly peoples, pointing to the importance of the role of the Iraqi parliament in strengthening these relations and exploring new avenues of cooperation between the two countries.
