During his meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Iraq Fumio Iwai, the Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri reviewed the developments at the Iraqi and regional levels, bilateral relations and means of cooperation in the economic and trade fields, Japan’s role in supporting Iraq during its war on terrorism and the important projects in Iraq financed by the Japanese loan.

He stressed the importance of continued cooperation and coordination between the two countries to invest all opportunities available to achieve common interests, pointing out the importance of benefiting from the unique Japanese experience, which is one of the most important experiences in the world. Al-Jubouri appreciated Japan’s role and its support for Iraq in all fields, especially in the humanitarian field and the relief of displaced people. For his part, the Japanese ambassador congratulated al-Jubouri on the Iraqi victories against terrorism, stressing that his country is keen to support Iraq in the field of reconstruction of infrastructure, and expand the horizons of cooperation with Iraq and the two countries have strong ties.
