The Speaker: One of the most important factors in success of reconciliation is the support of community activities
The Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri received on Sunday a delegation from the American Institute of Peace. During the meeting, they discussed the developments in the country, especially the victories achieved by the Iraqi forces and the near end of the presence of ISS in Iraq, and ways of concerted efforts to achieve community reconciliation. He stressed that Iraq needs great support from the international community and UN organizations in this regard to erase the traces left by terrorism and ending all the problems in the liberated areas, returning the displaced people to their areas of residence and the reconstructing their areas which are the most prominent problems that require a great effort at this stage.
He added that one of the most important factors in the success of community reconciliation is to give community activities, especially the clan system, a role commensurate with the positive impact that it represents in society as an important pillar and that can save time and effort in achieving positive results and we have had successful experiences in this regard.
The delegation appreciated the efforts of the Speaker to restore citizens to their liberated areas, stressing their readiness to provide all forms of support in order to achieve security and stability in the country.
