Sheikh Hamoudi: Insistence on holding illegitimate referendum will lead us to chaos, those who care about their people’s interests wouldn’t lead them to an unknown risk

The First Deputy Speaker Sheikh Dr. Humam Hamoudi stressed that Kurdistan’s insistence on holding an illegitimate and internationally rejected referendum will lead to chaos.
This came during a meeting with the Turkish ambassador to Iraq Mr. Fatih Yildiz in his office today, stressing that “whoever cares about his people’s interests wouldn’t lead them to an unknown risk”.
Sheikh Hamoudi stressed the need to comply with the decisions of the Federal Supreme Court and to resort to the Constitution in resolving the existing crisis, pointing out that any international initiative that does not support the unity of Iraq will be part of the problem, not the solution and would be doomed to failure.
Mr. Yildiz reiterated his country’s firm rejection of the referendum and support to Iraq’s unity. He highlighted the necessity of leaving the referendum issue and involving in interest-based dialogues.
