Sheikh Hamoudi meets Change Bloc delegation

The head of the Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council Sheikh Dr. Humam Hamoudi received at his office the delegation of the Change Bloc headed by Mr. Aram Sheikh Mohammed.
During the visit, the delegation extended congratulations to Sheikh Hamoudi on assuming the leadership of the Supreme Council, and discussed the problem of the referendum and its serious repercussions on Iraq and the region.
Sheikh Mohammad stressed the bloc’s adherence to the constitution and its rejection of the timing of the referendum, hoping that the crisis wouldn’t spark any conflict or harm the interests of the Kurdish people.
On his part, Sheikh Hamoudi valued the position of the bloc, its adherence to the constitution, and its keenness to spare the Kurdish people the consequences of the referendum, adding: “The solution is in your hands”, “the Kurdish people must adhere to the constitution they participated in drafting”. He stressed that “the Kurdish people are the most affected by the referendum and that the government and Iraqi national forces are keen on their interests more than the authority of the region.” He rejected any actions that are not inspired by the Constitution while welcoming any initiatives of the forces adhering to the constitution to preserve stability and dignity of the Kurdish people and the unity of Iraq.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Mohammed Taqi al-Mawla, Professor Mohammed al-Hashemi, and the MPs Ahud al-Fadhli and Mona al-Gharabi. The Kurdish delegation included the head of the Change Bloc MP Sarwa Abdel-Wahid, and Mrs. Kawa Mohamed, Mahmoud Reda and Amin Bakr.
