COR votes on two laws and finishes reading five others
In its 30th plenary session held on Tuesday November 14, 2017, COR voted on two laws and finished reading 5 legislative proposals.
The session was chaired by the First Deputy Speaker Sheikh Dr. Humam Hamoudi and attended by 170 MPs.
At the outset of the session, the First Deputy Speaker expressed his heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims of the earthquake, calling on the government to give full attention to the affected areas, condoling MP Adel Rashash and MP Awad al-Awadi for the death of their mothers.
Sheikh Hamoudi lauded on behalf of the Iraqi Council of Representative the outstanding performance of visitors in the Arba’een of Imam Hussain (AS) and thanked the security services and the concerned ministries and governors for securing Arba’een Pilgrimage
The council voted on the legislative proposal for the Ratification of Agreement on encouragement and reciprocal protection of investments between the Republic of Iraq and the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, submitted by the Committees of Foreign Relations and Economy and Investment.
The Council voted on the legislative proposal for the second amendment of the Law of Central Bank of Iraq Order No. (56.2004) issued by the Coalition Provisional Authority (dissolved) submitted by the Committees of Finance and Economy & Investment.
The Council finished the first reading of legislative proposal for the Ratification of the United Nations Convention on Transparency in Treaty-based Investor-State Arbitration submitted by the Committee of Foreign Relations.
The Council finished the first reading of the legislative proposal for the Sixth Amendment to the Implementation Law No. (45) of 1980, submitted by the Legal Committee.
The Council finished the first reading of the legislative proposal for the law of National Commission for the Protection of peaceful coexistence submitted by the Committees of Awqaf and Religious and Legal Affairs.
The Council finished reading of report and discussion of legislative proposal of Babylon, the Cultural Capital of Iraq submitted by the committees of Culture & Information, Legal Affairs, and Tourism and Atiquities.
The session was then adjourned to next Thursday 16/11/2017.
