The Speaker to Members of the US Congress: We aim at building real and effective partnership with friendly countries

The Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri met with the Members of the US Congress.
At the outset of the meeting, the Speaker highlighted the role of Iraq in combating ISIS and the need for the international Community’s support to overcome the challenges and achieve stability, stressing that the Iraqis made great sacrifices to limit the expansion of terrorist bandits in the region and the world.
The speaker said that the war left behind thousands of IDPs and destroyed a large proportion of the physical infrastructure of the country, calling on the international community to contribute effectively to restore the normal life in these areas and return its people to live in peace.
He also stressed that Iraq seeks to achieve a real partnership and effective partnership with friendly countries, especially the United States of America, based on economic and investment cooperation.
