The Speaker, US Ambassador, stress need to unite regional and international efforts to fight terrorism

The Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri met US Ambassador to Iraq Mr. Douglas Silliman. During the meeting, they reviewed the bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States, and ways to strengthen them. They also stressed the necessity of uniting regional and international efforts to combat terrorism and ensure the security and stability of Iraq and the region.
The two sides also emphasized the need for boosting joint coordination to reconstruct the liberated areas and return the displaced persons.
“Iraq is in the process of reconstructing areas that were destroyed by terrorist operations which contributed to the displacement of millions of Iraqi people,” al-Jubouri said.
He urged the international community to play greater role in the reconstruction process and help ensure a speedy and safe return of displaced families to their liberated cities.
He stressed the need to unite regional and international efforts to fight terrorist organizations that jeopardize the security and stability of Iraq and the region.
For his part, Mr. Silliman confirmed his country’s support for Iraq in its war against terrorism and the restoration of stability to its liberated cities through reconstruction and investment, and at all levels.
