COR votes on 2 parliamentary resolutions and finishes reading 4 laws

In its second plenary session of the second legislative term- fourth legislative year, held on Sunday January 7, 2018, the COR voted on 2 parliamentary resolutions, finishes reading 4 laws and started reading one legislative proposal.
The session was chaired by H.E the Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri an attended by 195 MPs.
At the outset of the session, the Council voted on a parliamentary resolution concerning Jerusalem.
On the other hand, the Council finished reading a report and discussion of the legislative proposal for the Council of Representatives and its formations submitted by the Legal and Financial Committees.
Al-Jubouri also mentioned adding the issue of whether or not being convinced of the answers of the Minister of Communications on the agenda of Sunday session. A session will be scheduled for next Monday to interrogate the Minister of Electricity in addition to setting a timetable for all submitted interpellation requests.
The Council voted on a parliamentary resolution draft submitted by the Committee of Culture and Information to commit the concerned authorities to facilitate the procedures for the export of the Iraqi books.
The COR finished reading report and discussion of the legislative proposal for the amendment of the amended Penal Code No. 111 of 1969 and other special laws No. 6 of 2008 submitted by the Legal Committee.
The Council completed reading report and discussion of the legislative proposal for Turkmen Human Rights law submitted by the Commission of Human Rights.
The Council completed reading report and discussion of the legislative proposal for Samarra, the Capital of Islamic Culture Law submitted by the Committees of Tourism & Antiquities and Legal Affairs.
The Council started the first reading of the legislative proposal for the Information and Communication Commission submitted by the Committees of Service & Reconstruction and Culture and Information.
On the other hand, al-Jubouri announced that the COR is in the process of issuing a decision to lift immunity of all those who were named by the Supreme Judicial Council, stressing that the Council of Representatives will not protect of any person.

The session was then adjourned to Monday 8//2018
