COR votes on three parliamentary resolutions and finishes reading one law

In its third plenary session of the second legislative term fourth legislative year, held on Monday January 8, 2017, the COR voted on three parliamentary resolutions, finished reading one law, and started vote on the Nursing Syndicate Law.
The session was chaired by H.E the Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri and attended by 190 MPs.
At the beginning of the session, the Council voted on a parliamentary resolution submitted by the Legal Committee to commit the government to work on the reconstruction of the areas affected by the successive offensives that have been launched the province of Basra.
The council also voted on a parliamentary resolution to form a commission of inquiry to investigate the Tuzkhurmatu events and ensure the return of the displaced persons, monitor violations and to hold to account those found to have committed illegal actions.
The Council voted on a parliamentary resolution submitted by the Committees of Energy, Finance and Legal Affairs to commit the Ministry of Oil to suspend the work of Kar Co. in Kirkuk fields.

The Council proceeded to vote on the legislative proposal for the Nursing Syndicate submitted by the Committees of Civil Society Organizations, Legal Affairs, Finance, and Health and Environment.
The Council postponed the vote on setting a timeline for the parliamentary elections to the next week.
The Council ended the first reading of the legislative proposal for the Third Amendment to the law of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce No. 43 of 1989, submitted by the Committees of Civil Society Organizations, Economy and Investment and Legal Affairs.
The session was adjourned to Sunday 15/1/2018.
