COR votes on Amendment to the Law of Governorates Not Incorporated into a Region

In its fourth plenary session of the second legislative term-fourth legislative year, held on Sunday January 14, 2018, the COR voted on third amendment to the Law of Governorates Not Incorporated into a Region No. 21 of 2008 and finished reading the legislative proposal for the law of Media and Communications Commission.
The session was chaired by H.E the Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri and attended by 195 MPs.
At the outset of the session, the Speaker remarked that a meeting of the Presidency Board of the COR with the heads of parliamentary blocs was held in which they agreed to include the vote on setting a timeline for the parliamentary and provincial elections and the law of provincial elections on the agenda of the upcoming sessions of the parliament. The legislative proposal for the Federal Budget Law will be presented for the first reading on next Monday, while Election Law will be added to the agenda of Thursday’s session
The Council offered its condolences to MP Habib Al-Tarafi and MP Ahmad Al-Masari for the death of their parents. Al-Fatihah was recited for the deceased and the souls of the martyrs of Iraq.
The session was then adjourned to next Monday 15/1/2018.
