COR hosts PM, finishes reading 4 laws

In its 9th plenary session of the second legislative term-fourth legislative year held on Wednesday January 31, 2018, the Council of Representatives hosted the Prime Minister Dr. Haidar al-Abadi to discuss the federal budget law of 2018 and finished reading four laws.

The session was chaired by H.E the Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri and attended by MPs.

The Council voted to keep the Minister’s hosting session secret, at the request of a number of MPs.

On the other hand, the Council completed the first reading of the legislative proposal for the first amendment to the Integrity Law submitted by the Integrity and Legal Committees and ended the first reading of the legislative proposal to prevent Firearms at Events submitted by the Legal Committee in order to ensuring the security and safety of citizens.

The Council completed the first reading of the legislative proposal for the second amendment to the Parliamentary Elections Law No. 45 of 2013 submitted by the Legal Committee, and finished the first reading of the legislative proposal for the Company Law No. 21 of 1997 submitted by the Committees of Economy and Investment.

The session was then adjourned to next Saturday 3/2/2018.
