COR finishes interpellation of Minister of Electricity, ends reading 7 laws

In its 10th plenary session of the second legislative term-fourth legislative year held on Saturday February 3, 2018, the Iraqi Council of Representatives finished the interpellation of Minister of Electricity Mr. Qasim al-Fahdawi.
The session was chaired by H.E the Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri and attended by 172.
At the end of the interrogation process, the questioning MP was not convinced by the answers of the respondent Minister and held him responsible for wasting public money, thanking the Speaker for his interaction with the interrogation process.
For his part, Mr. Qassim al-Fahdawi, the Minister of Electricity, protested accusing him of wasting public money.
For his part, the Speaker thanked Mr. Razak Muhaibis and Mr. Qassem Al-Fahdawi for their role in the interrogation process and in activating the supervisory role of the Council.
After that, the Council completed the first reading of the legislative proposal for Illegal Gain law (where did you get that?) submitted by the committees of Legal Affairs and Integrity.
The Council concluded reading of a report and discussion of legislative proposal for the First amendment to the Anti-Terrorist Organization Law No. 31 of 2016, submitted by the Security and Defense Committee.
The Council concluded reading report and discussion of the legislative proposal for the Second amendment to the Law of Compensation of Victims who lost part of their bodies due to the practices of the former regime law No. (5) of 2009 amended and submitted by the Committee of Martyrs, Victims and Political Prisoners.
The Council completed reading the report and discussion of the legislative proposal for the Sixth Amendment to the Law of Implementation No. (45) of 1980 submitted by the Legal Committee.
The Council also completed reading of report and discussion of the proposed amendment to the Law of Mayors No. (13) of 2011 submitted by the Legal Committee.
The Council completed the first reading of the legislative proposal for the Second amendment to the Law of Functional Gradation of healthcare professions No. 6 of 2000, submitted by the Health and Environment Committee.
The Council concluded reading report and discussion of the legislative proposal for Fine Arts law submitted by the Committee of Culture and Information.
The Interim Committee for the Resolution of the Housing Problem read a report demanding the enactment of a law for the Public Institution for Housing to address the population gap.
It was then decided to resume the session on Monday 5/2/2018.
