The Speaker, German Defense Minister discuss Germany’s military and humanitarian support

The Speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri met on Saturday February 10, 2017 the German Defense Minister Ms. Ursula von der Leyen.
During the meeting, they discussed the latest security and political developments in the region, means of promoting cooperation in the war against terrorism, and the importance of strengthening and developing the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries to serve the fundamental interests of their peoples.
The Speaker stressed that coordination between Iraq and the international community led to defeating ISIS, pointing out that the Iraqi forces have the expertise and skill to pursue and eliminate these criminal gangs.
He also expressed his appreciation for Germany’s military and humanitarian support to Iraq, stressing the importance of Germany’s support to face the challenges of the next phase.
For her part, Ms. von der Leyen confirmed her country’s support to Iraq in the war against terrorism and its keenness to develop better relations in various fields, lauding the role of Iraqi forces in defeating ISIS liberating occupied districts and achieving and stability.
