Sheikh Mohammed: the Council of Representatives is intensifying its work on the legislative and supervisory side
Deputy Speaker Aram Sheikh Mohammed discussed with the British Embassy the latest developments in Iraq and the region and means of enhancing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries. This came during a meeting at the official office of the Political Advisor of the British Embassy in Baghdad, Nicholas Alton.
The Deputy Speaker thanked the United Kingdom for providing assistance to the Iraqi people and the Kurdistan region, and reviewed with the British side the political scene and the most important developments in Iraq. He pointed out that “the Council of Representatives intensified its work on the legislative and supervisory side, and passed several important laws in this period. The government has taken good steps in this direction,” adding the importance of investing the victories achieved against terrorism and that this opportunity should be used by all parties to resolve the accumulated issues and political problems.
On his part, the British Chancellor expressed his wishes for the continuation of dialogues between political parties to resolve outstanding issues and permission for peaceful understandings and peaceful negotiations, stressing at the same time his country’s ongoing support for the government and people of Iraq and the Kurdistan region in all fields.
